The 105th Birthday of Rotary International on February 23rd 2010 was celebrated by Rotarians in District 9350 in four major events -
  • The Proclamation by Executive Mayor Dan Plato of Rotary Day in Cape Town.  The Proclamation recognised the humanitarian contribution of Rotary International to the community of Cape Town and to the World.
  • District 9350 joined Rotarians around the world in the Landmark Lighting of international locations which included the Pyramids in Egypt, the Obelisk in Beunos Aires and the Wrigley Building in Chicago, home town  of Rotary International.   In Spain, six historic locations carried the message of Rotary International to End Polio Now.
  • The activities of the family of Rotary International were on display at the Rotary at Work in Africa Expo at the V&A Waterfront's Victoria Wharf.
  • The Kick Polio Out of Africa campaign was launched when Ajax goal keeper, Hans Vonk,  kicked off the Soul of Africa football on a 22-nation pan-African journey from Cape Town to Cairo.  Before starting its journey, the ball, signed by Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and the Executive Mayor of Cape Town, Dan Plato, was auctioned to contribute to funding for PolioPlus and the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation.
